This month is a short recap as it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster month and I am slowing down more and more. This season is all about Surrender and Trust.
But I know you’ll still enjoy it!
My fave meditations on InsightTimer
- I enjoyed Mariya Nurislamova’s meditations & talks.
I celebrated
- 5 years of meditating. More on that journey still to come. I have meditated over 120k minutes!
Movies that made me think
- Crisis and In Time on Netflix.
Books I read/reading
- I have decided to combine my love for reading and writing and opened up a Goodreads account. If you are a fellow bookworm come join me on Goodreads for all the deets on what I am reading and reviewing.
Something new I learned this month
- I came across @balancedles Instagram account and she shared about ‘Best Case Scenario’ Journaling. I would highly recommend this type of journaling especially if you’re prone to overthink and go down the worry hole.
- Choose something that’s been weighing on your heart grab a journal and describe the best-case scenario working out. !!!Be mindful though not to get attached to a specific timeline. It’s something we all do. We create this unnecessary urgency when we set, let’s call it what it is, deadlines on our goals & dreams.
As an entrepreneur, I used to get caught up in comparison mode with what everyone around me was doing and essentially I lost myself. My vision was curated by what I saw others were doing -instead of stepping away and going deep into getting to know myself.
I love this perspective from 1 of of my VA clients – instead of setting timelines on her goals she asks the question “Who do I need to become to achieve XYZ”
Something new I noticed this month
- If I don’t slow down and hold space for my anxiety when it pops up it escalates fast into something really big.
- TIP –If you struggle with anxiety try this: set daily alarms (how many you need) and use it to check-in with yourself.
- Ask yourself what do I need in this moment. Or just take a moment to close your eyes, hand on your heart and breath and acknowledge how you feel.
Daily self-care & holding space and seeing (acknowledging) my anxiety, supported me in moving through it with a bit more ease.
Any discomfort or even pain needs a safe space to be held. So give that space to yourself. (Remember – set an intention when you do this work)
Words that meant a lot to me
- I am subscribed to Karen Curry Parker’s newsletter and it resonated so much.
- “You can’t simultaneously affirm that you are wealthy while quivering in fear that you’re going to lose it all, or questioning whether you deserve abundance and success or while being on the lookout for the “other shoe” to fall from the sky. The success and wealth we experience in life is created in accordance with how much we believe we can have it, allow it or, even, deserve it. In other words, your personal narrative has to include success and wealth as the baseline for what you create in life.”
