Nourishment for the soul: My monthly fave joys, reads, and inspirations

You are currently viewing Nourishment for the soul: My monthly fave joys, reads, and inspirations

Here you’ll find my monthly favourite joys, reads & inspirations. From shows, to the most incredible meditations.

I loved writing this so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed compiling it.

This idea was inspired by the beautiful and incredible Jordan Younger from The Balanced Blonde and her 12 Things Tuesday posts. She is a fellow Reflector and I love her authenticity, her energy, and all the goodness she shares. Her podcast is also phenomenal, especially the incredible guests she interviews.

So enjoy some of my fave things from meditations, to shows to books.

Monthly Inspiration

Shows & Movies I watched

  • Who remembers ‘Ugly Betty’? I could relate to Betty in so many ways. It’s currently showing on Disney+ so if you’re keen watch a trailer. It’s a total feel-good show with loads of life lessons that hit me in the deepest parts.
  • On the movie side, I recommend ‘Captain Phillips’ – I am not a huge Tom Hanks fan but when hubby suggests I watch it I trust that and it did not disappoint. Although heartbreaking it’s eye-opening.
  • Another movie I can recommend is ‘Happiness for Beginners‘ it’s funny and cute. The actress from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the main actress and it was a bit weird to see her in a more ‘normal’ role. I keep on waiting for her Kimmy character to come out. lol But who doesn’t love Luke Grimes (my fellow Yellowstone and 50 Shades of Grey peeps will get it)

Books I read/reading

  • I am a lover of romance books, from the sweet to hot & steamy ones, this month I enjoyed Kait Nolan‘s books.
  • On the personal development side, I am still reading The Big Leap by Guy Hendricks. I am excited to review it for you guys.

Books I purchased

My fave meditations on InsightTimer

Something new I am learning about

  • Fascia Yoga and all things fascia. I read that our fascia is our body’s second nervous system. Time to go down the #rabbithole
  • Cosmic Fertility – Another topic that is blowing my mind. My fave Instagram account for this so far ‘Wild Willing Wisdom‘. Stay tuned for more on this topic as I explore it in the coming months.

Intentions

  • I read an email from Biddy Tarot and it was about shifting your intentions from doing to feeling-based. It’s quite incredible the shift that happens inside you when you do this. Try it and let me know how it impacts you.

Youtube Inspiration

  • One evening I came across The Gem Goddess’s Youtube and the recommended video was a pick-a-pile tarot reading on ‘What you’re currently manifesting‘ and WOW, so needed at the time. Incredible when we are open to the guidance that the Universe always delivers in the most unique and interesting ways. Check out her Youtube and if you feel called to watch the Pick a Pile.
  • Of course, I have to link you to my new Youtube Channel as well. You will find empowering stories, and also card pulls, and random things I enjoy and love.

Something I learned about myself

  • It amazes me when we are open to things what we manage to learn about ourselves. We watched Quarterback on Netflix and as a “when I feel like it” sports fan (hubby is a big Rugby & UFC supporter) watching a football show is quite out of the ordinary for me but I watched it and let’s just say I was surprised. Here’s why:
    • I for one had a distorted and uninformed view of Quarterbacks (thanks to all the jock movies) and once I understood what goes into a game and as a Quarterback I was hooked.
    • Growing up & living in South Africa football is not something I am familiar with. But man I have thoroughly enjoyed the show, and the gameplay, and I must say I am a fan. We are already exploring how to watch the 2023 season. #manifestingaNFLstream

Final thoughts…

We so easily adopt opinions, and beliefs from others, as our own which leads to us losing ourselves. We learn to not trust ourselves and we stop questioning things. I was once that person. The most incredible thing you can do for yourself is to always and I mean always stay open and curious

You will be surprised at what you learn about life and yourself.
